Is Body Positivity the Hidden Enemy?


We’re normalizing treating our bodies like crap—like they’re just vehicles to get us from point A to point B.


I admit it—I’m no role model when it comes to car maintenance.

Oil changes? Eventually.

New tires? Only when they’re screaming for attention.

A good clean? Maybe every couple of months, if I’m lucky.

But to treat our bodies the same way, with no real care or thought about future consequences? Come on. Applying that same strategy to your body? Yeah, turns out “life-ing it” isn’t a long-term health plan. And unlike a car, when our bodies break down, we don’t get to trade them in or buy new. We live in the one we’ve got.


Now, don’t get it twisted—I’m not saying we should be mean to people. I’ll always believe kindness is the way to live.

But let’s call it what it is: “Body positivity” has become a way to feel less guilty about daily decisions that are, scientifically speaking, slowly wrecking our health and quality of life.


And the wild part? Living healthy isn’t even that complicated.

It’s as simple as:

  • Moving your body a few times a week

  • Eating the right amount of the right foods

  • Staying consistent


That’s it. We’re not talking six hours in the gym or chicken-and-broccoli misery. Just better habits, done more often than not.

At this point, valid excuses are few and far between. And pretending otherwise doesn’t make you kinder—it just keeps people stuck.
