Can We Cancel Diet Culture?

Its not just about the weight anymore-
Eight months ago, I honestly didn’t think I’d stick with this. I figured I’d show up for a few weeks, maybe drop some weight, then quietly disappear when life got busy or the motivation wore off—like I always did.
Before Mov, I was in this constant cycle of “starting over.” I’d try something new—some app, some diet, some 30-day challenge—and I’d be all in… until I wasn’t. The moment I missed a day or ate something “off plan,” it felt like I’d ruined everything. So I’d quit. Again.
The first thing that caught me off guard at Mov was how normal everyone was. No fitness influencers judging your squat form. No pressure to train like a pro athlete. Just real people trying to feel better, move better, live better.
From the start, my coach made it clear—this wasn’t about perfection. It was about building a plan that actually made sense for me.
A schedule I could keep.
Food I’d actually eat.
Workouts that didn’t leave me crawling to my car.
What surprised me most wasn’t the physical progress (though that’s definitely there)—it was how much better life started to feel outside the gym. I sleep better. I don’t crash in the afternoons anymore. I don’t obsess over food or feel guilty for enjoying a night out.
And maybe the wildest part? I actually look forward to showing up. Not just because I feel stronger—but because I finally feel capable. Like this isn’t something I’m trying to survive... it’s something I’ve made part of my life.
I’m still learning. Still growing. Still figuring things out.
But for once, I’m not starting over.
I’m just... continuing.
