A position for a well-respected individual in the fitness community who lives a healthy/green lifestyle, is a leader, and has a strong interest in running. This position involves being the race director at various 5k races, teaching outdoor bootcamp classes, and coachng individuals in weight loss and/or running technique. Certification with MOVFitness required plus previous running experience.
Duties include:
Race Director - With races all over the country the race director will be responsible for leading all duties during the race. This is a fun position on Saturday mornings where the coach will be at the start/finish line with a stopwatch to time all participants. Knowledge of 5ks, 10ks, marathons, and sprinting events are a great asset for this position. You'll have a team of volunteers helping out and will direct them in each position. Our races are different than most in that we have no race bibs, are extremely green, and very low-key.
Bootcamp Instructor - Teaching outdoor group classes 3-5x a week, these bootcamps will help prepare the community for our local races.Very strong emphasis is placed on cross-training and help in weight loss. Our fitness certification will teach the running coach our training methods and provide ample tools to instruct this class. Class will only be taught after being certified as a Certified Personal Trainer with MOVFitness. An example of our bootcamp can be seen at MOVBootcamp. We wil implement our 10 Weeks to Skinny program where the bootcamp will go on for 10 weeks and the participants will run a local race on their 10th week and build up towards this throughout the entire training program.
Personal Coaching - In addition to the bootcamp, it is a great idea to have personal sessions to aid in success. This will be on your own schedule and most sessions are 5-8am or 5-8pm conducted outdoors or in local gyms. The participants in bootcamp will inquire about training and our certified instructors will have the opportunity to take private sessions and aid them in weight loss, running technique, or an assortment of other skills. At MOVFitness, we teach sword fighting, boxing, kettlebells, running, kiteboarding, and more.
